| Anna Simpson dropped into Stray FM to help present the Home Time ShowWhen Paul Hartley got wind that one of the finalists in the Britain's Sexiest Farmer 2010 Competition hailed from North Yorkshire, he did what any honourable presenter would do and told everyone to vote for Anna Simpson. She won and joined Paul on his show. "Supporting Anna came about simply from trawling through the local papers, which I do ahead of my show each day. I think it was The Northern Echo's headline which read "More than men, muck & wellies" which was an extract from Anna's quote when she said she entered Britain's Sexiest Farmer because she wanted to show that farming was more than men, muck and wellies! Great headline, which made me read the article, where I discovered Anna was a local lass from Hutton Rudby, who worked in Thirsk. I thought it'd be great to support someone local, so I started mentioning it on a daily basis, directing people to The Farmers Weekly website to vote for Anna. I started getting calls from farmers who were more than a little bowled over by Anna's looks and attitude, most of them wanting to know "how many acres" she had! Apparently, that's the modern day equivalent of a dowry, in farmer's speak!!" | |
