In those days, the pets on Blue Peter were known as 'people's pets' as they were there for those families who couldn't have their own cats and dogs.

And now, 97.2 Stray fm are doing the same! Meet Sky, the 97.2 Stray fm radio dog... not a virtual pet but a real pet that lives and breathes... and you can follow her fortunes on air with Chris Bell's Big Fun Breakfast weekdays from 6am and now here online too!

The Dog Blog

12th December 2008: Sky the Stray FM Radio Dog is celebrating her First Birthday TODAY!!! – yes, one year ago she was born on a cold night at Dallow Gill, and after a hard year, she has turned into a proper little lady!

It wasn’t always that idyllic…there were many times when we thought we would part company, and one day where we actually DID (for about 2 hours!) But now she has blossomed into a fantastic (if not belligerent, awkward and sulky) young lady!

Yes she has her moments…but she is now a fully fledged guard dog who loves nothing better than a Chicken Korma! She has moved her bed (onto the ones they call Mummy and Daddy’s bed!) She goes absolutely NOWHERE without her pink ball, and at the moment sits every morning in front of her Advent Calendar to wait for her treat!

To celebrate she is having a Birthday party (but don’t tell her – it’s a surprise!) (and I bet Chicken Korma comes into it somewhere!)

So – we would love you to raise a glass this weekend and say Happy First Birthday to Sky The Radio Dog!
