Firefighters tackle bus fire

Firefighters have been tackling a bus fire on the A6055 in between Boroughbridge and Minskip. 

Crews from Boroughbridge and Ripon were called just before 4pm this afternoon to the fire in the engine compartment of a double decker bus. 

The fire is now out, and it's thought no one was on the bus at the time. The cause is believed to be a mechanical fault.

The service also cleaned up a large oil spill on the road.
