Parts of North and West Yorkshire have been rocked by a 'big bang'.
Stray FM was contacted by several listeners who heard the loud noise just before 4pm on Thursday 26 January.
It is thought to have been a sonic boom caused by a low-flying aircraft.
The Ministry of Defence website has details of RAF and Royal Navy aircraft taking part in a major training exercise over Yorkshire to prepare for the Olympic Games.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Geological experts confirmed that there was no earthquake recorded in the area and the Met Office confirmed that there were no major weather problems that could have caused the bang.
"Officers have not found any evidence of an explosion or any other incident that may have caused the loud noise some people heard."
