The 23-year-old dedicated the medal to everyone who supported her in the build-up to the Games.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, she said: "It was beyond anything I've ever achieved before. It's something I've worked so hard for in the last four years.

"I'm so proud of me and the girls and everyone who’s put something in to this medal. So many people deserve a bit of it."

"She knew she could do it."

Her father John said: "I think she could hear everyone willing her on and I'm sure that pushed her."
