PROGRAMMING HIGHLIGHTS

Stray FM Snowline

During the bad weather in January 2010 we broadcast continuous local information to keep our listeners updated on road news, weather reports and school closures.

We also asked listeners to ‘show us your snow pictures' which we compiled in an online gallery.

Stray FM Local Hero Awards

As part of our continuing commitment to the area we serve we decided to search out those
unsung heroes that make our communities' lives richer without ever seeking out recognition.
We mounted a giant on air search for these people will hundreds of nominations reaching
Stray FM by the closing date. We whittled these entries down painstakingly to 3 finalists in
categories such as "Teacher of the Year", "Super Mum or Dad of the Year", "Make a
Community Difference award" amongst many others. We invited these finalists to join us at
Harrogate's Cedar Court Hotel for a glitzy Hollywood style awards ceremony to honour their
achievements. This amazing evening was attended by local MP Phil Willis, Civic Leaders and
a host of other folk from all walks of life in our area. Keep listening as we will shortly be launching the 2010 Local Hero Awards....this year with a special twist!

Music:

97.2 Stray FM plays a melodic adult contemporary style of music which allows us to play a big variety of songs. There are categories that represent music from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and the 2000 decades, as well as recurrent songs and the latest ‘playlisted' music which highlights the best music of today - this takes the form of an A, B and C list with the A list being the highest rotated.

9 to 5 No Repeat Workday: 97.2 Stray FM plays More Music on the 9 to 5 No Repeat Workday. From Monday to Friday between 9 and 5, you won't hear the same song twice.

An example of a workday hour follows:

Song 2 Cheryl Cole - Fight for this Love

Song 3 Wet Wet Wet - Love Is All Around

Song 4 Kings of Leon - Sex on Fire

Song 5 Rufus/Chaka Khan - Ain't Nobody
