At least 4 hours daytime Saturdays and Sundays.

Programme Sharing:
All programmes may be shared between the Harrogate licence (AL162) and the Yorkshire Dales & Skipton Licence (AL192), subject to satisfying the character service requirements above.

Local news bulletins

At least hourly at peaktime. At other times UK-wide, nations and international news should feature.

All of Stray FM's programmes are broadcast from our studios in Harrogate. All of Stray FMs daytime programmes are broadcast live. Most days we pre-record or automate the More Music Hour (1pm) and evening programming (from 6pm). At the weeknd we automate Saturday lunchtime (12-2pm) and Sunday afternoons (12-7pm).

Stray FM supports local charities through our daily ‘Community Hub' feature. If you would like to broadcast an appeal please feel free to drop us a line.

Stray FM brings you the latest weather forecast every hour. Travel bulletins are broadcast every twenty minutes at Breakfast and Home Time with hourly updates throughout the day.

PROGRAMMING HIGHLIGHTS

Stray FM's Love the High Street was an on air and online campaign to support local shops in Harrogate, Knaresborough, Boroughbridge, Ripon, Otley, Ilkley and Skipton in March 2013.

The 2013 Local Hero Awards are on the air now looking for Superstars in Harrogate and the Dales. Categories include Child of Courage award, Teacher of the Year and Sporting achievement.

Throughout January, February and March we have kept listeners in touch during bad weather with Stray FM's Snow watch with regular travel updates and school closure information.

Once again this year we are supporting many local events including Race for Life in Harrogate and Ilkley, Skipton Gala, Skipton Sheep Day, The Great Knaresborough Bed Race, Saint Michael's Hospice Star Walk, Ilkley Carnival, Ripon's St Wilfrid's procession, Otley Gala, The Harrogate International Festival, Ilkley Summer Festival and Yorkshire day celebrations in Skipton.

We have locally generated news bulletins on the hour from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday with headlines at 6.20am, 6.40am, 7.20am, 7.40am, 8.20am, 8.40am.

At weekends our local bulletins run from 8am to 12pm. At all other times we carry national and international news on the hour from Sky News.

RECENT NEWS HIGHLIGHTS:

  1. Business and council leaders in Ripon are considering how to minimise the economic impact of Claro Barracks being closed.
  2. Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is to plant an oak tree on The Stray to commemorate organ donors and their families.
  3. Plans for a waste incinerator near Knaresborough are now in doubt after the government withdrew funding for the project at Allerton Park.

Stray FM plays a melodic adult contemporary style of music which allows us to play a big variety of songs. There are categories that represent music from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and the 2000 decades, as well as recurrent songs and the latest ‘playlisted' music which highlights the best music of today - this takes the form of an A, B and C list with the A list being the highest rotated.
