We are looking to appoint a friendly and confident School Administrator to work in our school office.

The post is an exciting and challenging one, it is a part time post working alongside another administrator for 17 hours per week. You will be expected to show initiative and adopt a flexible approach to your work. The successful candidate will be expected to deal efficiently with a wide range of enquiries from visitor, parents, pupils and staff. 
We are looking for someone who is dedicated and hard-working and who enjoys the challenges and rewards of working in a busy school office. 

Not only will the daily running of the office include the basic, front-line tasks that encompass a school administrator role, but you will also be tasked with the use and supervision of systems including Scholar Pack and Parent Pay.

You will be the first person that any school visitor sees upon their arrival, meaning that you are the first impression that is made. It is vital to any school that visitors are welcomed in a manner that is in keeping with the warm, friendly and nurturing Christian ethos of the school.

Regarding system knowledge, you don't need to know all there is to know about school systems however prior clerical/administration experience is highly desirable. You will of course receive any training that the school would deem appropriate based on the expectation of the outlined duties.

The Administrator's duties and responsibilities will include:

dealing with meeting and greeting parents, pupils and visitors to the schools.

being responsible for checking visitors into the school in line with Safeguarding procedures and for taking messages to pupils in class.

be a qualified First Aider or be willing to undertake first aid training

have confidence and competence across a range of ICT systems - a good working knowledge of Scholar Pack and Parent Pay is desirable

Undertake high levels of typing and word-processing (including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office)

Provide personal, administrative and organisational support to head teachers

Book staff training courses and make arrangements for educational visits as directed by the Head teacher

Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school

Establish constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies/professionals

Provide routine clerical support e.g. photocopying, filing, faxing, emailing, complete routine forms

Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems

Sort and distribute mail

To keep the school office and reception area as an orderly, pleasant and efficient working environment

Essential skills and qualities:

be confident and able to communicate effectively in a professional and courteous manner

be welcoming to all visitors and telephone callers.

Have excellent communication skills, including a confident telephone manner

be able to work effectively as part of a busy team but also demonstrate initiative and strong organisational skills 

Have a keen eye for detail, work with accuracy in an organised manner

Be able to multi task and work to strict deadlines 

Be presentable in appearance 

Have excellent administration skills, the ability to prioritise and be flexible in their approach. 

Has the passion, energy and enthusiasm to continually develop professionally


Is committed to upholding the Christian ethos of the school


Will contribute to school life as a whole



Working hours – 17 hrs per week

Monday – 12.30-4.30

Wednesday- 8.30-4.30 (includes half an hour lunch break)

Friday – 10.30-4.30 (includes half an hour lunch break)


Visits to school are strongly encouraged.
