Due to their continued success and an internal promotion, their team is growing and can now offer a position for a bright, motivated Accounts Assistant to work as part of an existing team of 3 and to support the Financial Controller.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Purchase Ledger duties:
    • Overseeing the Accounts email inbox
    • Checking & entering purchase invoices onto the accounts packages
    • Reconciling supplier statements to ledgers
    • Ensuring payments due are listed correctly and put forward to the Financial Controller for payment on a weekly basis
    • Liaising with Logistics to ensure stock is booked in prior to invoices being entered
    • Dealing with any queries
  • Printing out the credit card statements and matching the receipts to the statements
  • Matching fuel receipts to statements
  • Any associated Purchase Ledger administration
  • Assisting with Credit Control
    • Chasing overdue debts for a supply only company
    • Chasing overdue applications/invoices for a supply & install company
    • Taking credit/debit card payments
    • Sending credit acceptance/increase/decrease letters
    • Dealing with invoice/credit queries

 

CANDIDATE BRIEF

The ideal candidate will have strong numerical aptitude and great interpersonal skills with an ability to confidently and clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels on the telephone, face to face and via email.

You will be someone who can work collaboratively as part of a team but will have the confidence and ability to work under your own initiative, whilst solving problems and at times working under pressure.

Our client currently uses a bespoke ERP system based on Sage 200, so any experience with Sage at any levelis essential and experience using an ERP system would be desirable but is not essential.

 

We would like to speak to people who:

  • Have at least 12 months previous experience working within an accounts assistant/purchase ledger role (training will be provided on systems and processes)
  • Are computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
  • Are focused with a fine eye for detail
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have highly developed organisational, administrative and planning skills
