Get involved in the world's largest mascot race!
The Mascot Gold Cup - sponsored by Rotherwood Recruitment - returns to Wetherby Racecourse and Conference Centre during their annual Family Day race meeting. This is the 12th year of the Mascot Gold Cup, which set the Guinness World Record for the most mascots in a race back in 2015.
Get involved in this year's event and have a great day out at Wetherby Races while helping us at Sue Ryder to continue our incredible hospice care for those with life-limiting conditions.

Mascots get two complementary race-day passes and those going along to support them are sent a half-price ticket voucher for unlimited numbers, so this makes for an ideal corporate, community group or family day out. Under-16s get in free.

Interested, but no mascot?
Get in touch! We have a ‘stable’ of mascots that can be ‘adopted’ for the day on a first come first served basis.

The sooner you sign up, the more time your organisation will be promoted on our 'Entries so far' web page. So grab your credit card and sign up now!

Want to take part in support of another charity?
We know that many other charities have mascots, so all we ask is that these organisations pay the entry fee, which goes to Sue Ryder, and then all the sponsorship they raise is for their own good cause.

Event information
Mascots first take part in the Mascot Parade where punters can place their bets on their favourites, then there is a one-minute mascot warm-up before the race itself. Mascots run the final furlong in front of the cheering grandstands - that's 220 yards and negotiating six small fences.

This year's race theme is yet to be decided but, once announced, mascots will be encouraged to dress up accordingly because one of the prizes in the Mascot Parade is 'Best Turned-Out Mascot'.

The day's itinerary is as follows:

Mascot registration: 12 noon-1.55pm
Mascot Parade: 1.00pm-1.30pm
First Horse Race: 2.00pm
Mascot Gold Cup: 2.15pm
Presentation: 3.15pm
Horseracing: Until 5.30pm
