About:
The adage goes, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” Ayisha Malik spent various spells photocopying, volunteering, being a publicist at Random House, and managing editor at Cornerstones Literary Consultancy. After Ayisha complained to her publishing house colleague that she wasn’t seeing any books about normal everyday Muslims, she set about writing her own. Ayisha’s first novel, Sofia Khan is Not Obliged, explored one Muslim woman’s attempts to simultaneously navigate the dating and literary worlds to great acclaim, being chosen as one of WH Smith’s Fresh Talent Picks in 2016.

Light-hearted, funny and fresh, Ayisha’s modern comedies focus on manners, British culture, and life as a Muslim woman in today’s society. Ayisha has also ghost-written for Nadiya Hussain, winner of the Great British Bake-Off.
