A fitting tribute to Janis Joplin

janis joplin

Published at 12:02am 27th February 2018.

It was a fitting tribute to this music legend.

Janis Joplin's album went to Number One in the US on this day (27th Feb) in 1971, five months after she died.

"Pearl" would stay there for for another nine weeks.

It was her second album but sadly she never managed to add her vocals to 'Buried Alive in the Blues' as she passed away before managing to finish record the lyrics.
