He was back in wax - as this 70s music icon joined a illustrious gang!

It was on this day (8th March) on 1976 that Elton John finally made the big time.

Forget all the Number Ones and all the hit albums - this was it was what it was all about.

The Rocket Man blasted his way into Madame Tussauds in London.

Elton was the first musican to crash the wax party since The Beatles.
