Political hit for Paper Lace

anti war campaign

Published at 12:00am 16th March 2018.

It was a political hit for Paper Lace.

It was on this day (16th March) in 1977 that the band went to Number One in the UK charts with their anti-war hit.

'Billy Don't Be A Hero' was their only chart topper.

It would prove to be popular over the pond as well!

Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods scored a US No.1 with their version of the song.
