Saying goodbye to one of the greatest drummers of all time

Published at 6:04am 6th September 2018.

It was the day we said goodbye to one of the all-time great drummers.

On this day (7th Sept) in 1978 Keith Moon passed away from an overdose of drugs.

The Who's drummer was found to have had 32 tablets in his system, 26 of which were undissolved.

Keith had been to a party the night before which had been put on by Paul McCartney for the launch of The Buddy Holly Story film.

He also died two weeks after The Who released their iconic Who Are You album.
