There will be more searches of the River Ouse in a bid to find out what happened to missing Skipton man Rory Johnson.

The 29-year-old's father appealed on Facebook for a boat so that the family could continue searches after police suspended operations on the water last week.

However, York Rescue Boat's Chairman and Director of Operations, Dave Benson, has strongly advised people not to carry out unassisted searches.

The charity has now agreed to help Rory's family by carrying out more searches when conditions allow.

Rory was last seen in York in the early hours of 20 November.
