He used to sell out concert venues across the North and starred on the football pitch for both Harrogate Town and Harrogate Railway.

But stroke survivor James Overton says he'd now be virtually housebound without a local service led by volunteers.

Stray FM has been invited out with the Driving Force scheme which helps people like James to get out of the house.

The project, run by the Harrogate Easier Living Project, was launched in September and already takes people on 100 journeys per month.

James - who once won an episode of Opportunity Knocks - had a stroke three years ago and now needs a wheelchair to get about.
