Stray FM has honoured more extraordinary people across Harrogate, Craven and Wharfedale.

This year's Local Hero Awards have been presented to some very worthy winners at a glittering ceremony in Harrogate.

There are some truly inspirational stories, including the girl who has raised thousands of pounds for charity in memory of her grandmother and a 22-year-old from Ilkley who is now a mum to her three younger brothers.

Sarah Barry, Managing Director of Stray FM, said: "The Stray FM Local Hero Awards are here to recognise the extraordinary achievements of everyday people. We spend months and months seeking out stories about people who make a significant difference, those who inspire others and those who demonstrate courage, selflessness and humanity.

"In most cases, our Local Heroes have been nominated by someone they have helped or inspired and, in almost every case, our nominees don't understand why they themselves have been singled out. This is what makes the Local Hero Awards so unique.

"The awards ceremony itself is a fantastic night where we bring our clients and listeners together for a wonderful evening of celebration. It is all made possible by our fantastic sponsors who help us make it happen and in true style, so an enormous thank you to both our main sponsor, CNG, and all of our award sponsors as well.

"Finally, we could not do any of this without our Local Heroes, so the greatest thanks to both those who have taken the time to nominate you, and to those who have been nominated."
