Heavy rain has led to flash flooding in parts of Earby overnight.

It's affected both homes and businesses, some of which were hit by flooding on Boxing Day.

Last night, fire crews had to rescue 10 people trapped in Madras Authentic Indian Cuisine and also helped to clear water.

Restaurant owner Mohammed Ahmed has been explaining what happened:

Emergency services, council officials and volunteers are busy cleaning up the mess, including mud on the streets.

Some shopkeepers have been forced to throw away their stock.

A flood recovery centre has opened at the Old Grammar School to offer support to flood victims.

After the Boxing Day floods, the Government made funding available to help improve defences in places such as Earby.

County Councillor Paul White said: "That money is not being spent and we need to encourage that work to take place as soon as possible, so that situations like this aren't happening again."
