A young musician from Glusburn is in the running to win a national songwriting competition.

13-year-old Niamh Mirfield's song 'Can't Stand This Anymore' is nominated for the Best of British Unsigned Song of the Year.

Niamh is the only act from Yorkshire in the final 10 nominees for the award, which is decided by a public vote.

A previous winner, Molly Smitten-Downes, went on to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Nominees are also put forward for The Critic's Choice Award', and Niamh will hope her sound impresses a panel of three industry experts.

Voting closes on the evening of Sunday 30 October.
