A Nidderdale author has been sharing some of her stories with Stray FM to mark Remembrance Sunday.

87-year-old Pamela Holliday has written a book about growing up at her family home in Dacre during war and peace.

The memoir, called 'More Then Than Now', is being published in December.

Pamela's father and uncle served in the First World War.

She was 10 when war broke out in 1939 and says the conflict cast a shadow over her childhood.

Pamela has been speaking to Stray FM's Lisa Darvill:

She's already started work on her second memoir.

Pamela is launching her book 'More Then Than Now' in December.

The book is being published by George Ramsden of Stone Trough Books of York.
