A Harrogate-based Traffic Sergeant has raised nearly £4500 for charity after completing the London Marathon.

Sergeant Paul Cording, known to many as @OscarRomeo1268 on social media, was running the 26.2 miles for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Paul told Stray FM "The whole day was fantastic, the atmosphere was unbelievable.

"Yes, I've raised some money for the Air Ambulance but you're seeing people who are clearly running for family members they've lost.

"Everybody's there with their own personal special story and it really is quite humbling."

Paul, who completed the run in under 5 hours, was quick to thank those who have supported him along the way.

"It's just from me, a massive thank you to every body for their kindness and generosity. It really will make a massive difference.

"I know, whilst I was away yesterday, my team were dealling with some incidents on the roads so it just goes to show what a benefit they are to our area."
