NHS at 70: "We can't do without it"

The NHS is being celebrated across Harrogate, Craven and Wharfedale today as the service turns 70. 

Events are taking place across the country to mark the milestone. The Mayor and Mayoress of Harrogate have been visiting Harrogate District Hospital today to meet staff and patients. 

As part of NHS at 70, Stray FM was invited to Harrogate Hospital to meet staff and patients. 

82-year-old Patrica Barker from Minskip is being treated in hospital after a fall. 

She told us we'd be lost without the NHS:

84-year-old Elizabeth Crosley from Harrogate is also being treated on Farndale Ward after a fall and subsequent hip operation. She can also remember a time before the NHS:
