Passengers will once again get the chance to fly from Leeds Bradford Airport to Newquay.

It’s one of 11 new domestic and international routes which will start next year from airports in the North of England.

The Chancellor announced in last week’s Spending Review that 11 successful bidders across the UK had been awarded support from the Government’s Regional Air Connectivity Fund.

It should take 85 minutes to fly between Yorkshire and the South West on the new service run by Flybe.

Aviation Minister Robert Goodwill said: "Carlisle, Newcastle and Leeds Bradford airports are vital engines for the Northern economy, connecting the UK and creating opportunities. That is why the UK Government backs new air routes in this region, with our investment benefiting hardworking people across the country."
