Tom Hatley, main organiser and President of Otley Chamber of Trade, said: "We are absolutely delighted that so many people took time out of their busy lives to nominate their favourite businesses.

"In total, we received a staggering 300 nominations across 78 businesses. This just goes to show how many amazing businesses we have in our town."

Gurjit Singh, of Otley Pharmacy, said: "We are very pleased that our customers have nominated Otley Pharmacy.

"It's reassuring to know that our hard work and drive for excellent service has been acknowledged by our customers.

"The community has been very supportive of our services and we hope that we can continue to deliver."

Marcia Sunderland, of Rest Assured Home Care, added: "We are honoured and delighted to be nominated for an award twice in two years.

"We feel especially proud and it is down to our hard-working dedicated staff who always go the extra mile to deliver the very best care possible."

Before the awards are handed out, the first Otley Business Conference will take place.

Three influential guest speakers will cover subjects which are key to the growth of Otley's businesses throughout this year and beyond.

Stephen Rowntree, from The Pensions Regulator, will tell businesses all they need to know about auto enrolment pensions.

Simon Brereton, Head of Innovation and Sector Development at Leeds City Council, is going to discuss the town's economic development.

Steph Lee, Chair of Otley BID and a director of Otley Town Partnership, will provide an update on the marketing of Otley.

Tom Hatley added: "I would just like to thank the 2016 Business Awards Team for all their fantastic work in bringing this event together.

"Councillor Wendy Brown and her team of mystery shoppers, the judging panel, Rachelle Atkin and Ryan Spence, our sponsors, and of course the business community for getting behind the 2016 Awards.

"Friday 18 March at the Otley Courthouse is going to be a special day celebrating Otley's best businesses."
