Giving feedback is so easy if it's positive! But if you need to tackle something negative it can be a lot more tricky. You're so afraid of offending someone and knocking their confidence, you =avoid it altogether. But actually this not only limits how much your employee can excel and develop, it could also be slowing down the business progression too if a job isn't being done as well as it could be. 

Sally from Limelight HR gives some advice on how to give constructive feedback:

  • Don't avoid it!
  • Set a regular time or meeting, don't just wait for an annual appraisal
  • Prepare in advance for the meeting and know what you want to say
  • Don't disguise the feedback with praise
  • Set some measurable goals or targets
