Last week's general election has done nothing for certainty. Having promised more "strong and stable" the result seems to have plunged everything into more confusion.

And, with a hung parliament unlikely to force through any major changes, it's unlikely that the promises made by any political party in the build up to the vote will be followed through.

In the run up to the election, pensions were high on the agenda - with there seeming agreement that there needs to be some changes to the state pension system, whether that be by removing the so-called "triple lock" or in another way.

All of this is somewhat out of your control - so what can you do to make sure you put yourself in the best position for retirement?

Every UK worker is being enrolled in an "auto-enrollment" pension scheme, which is setup by the employer. 

What can you do to make sure that your employer is getting the right scheme for you.
