Brand new Harrogate company Seachips are flying high in a distinguished start-up competition supported by one of Britain's best known entrepreneurs.

The Virgin Foodpreneur competition aims to find the best food start up business in the UK and Seachips, founded by Harrogate's Daniel Pawson and his friend Dom, have made it to the semi-finals.

Daniel popped in to Stray FM to share some of his creation with us, which was basically crisps, made from salmon skin!

While this might sound unusual, we're told it's a popular asian snack which Daniel and his team are aiming to bring into the mainstream in the UK from their Yorkshire base.

With flavours including salt & vinegar, salted and chilli & lime, they're aiming to join the ranks of dry-roasted nuts and pork scratchings in bar snack legend.

Using fish skin helps reduce food waste, and they're much higher in protein and healthy fats that normal potato crisps.

Have a listen to our interview and tasting to find out more about Seachips, and importantly, whether they taste any good...
