We're lucky in the UK to have an abundance of energy. It would be unusual to flick a switch and a light not come on, to turn a tap and not get water, or to up the thermostat up and not feel warmer. But it's not like that everywhere, and it's this difference in quality of life that has inspired Harrogate energy company CNG to begin their latest project.

Shower Up project at Turasha School with CNG

Shower Up will provide Turasha secondary school in Kenya with a brand new hot water shower block powered by solar energy and made from recycled shipping containers. The boarding school teaches over 600 pupils all of whom currently wash in cold water in dilapidated buildings which is having severe consequences on not only their health, but also their education.

After a brilliant crowdfunding effort over £51,000 has been raised and building work will commence very shortly.

We can't wait to see the finished project in Kenya and will of course keep you up to date. Hear when Beth Parsons talked to Ellis Hall on Stray FM's Business Hub about the start of the CNG Shower Up project
