Harrogate's 36 bus service has won a gold trophy at the prestigious UK Bus Awards 2017 in London.

The 'Sustained Marketing Excellence' accolade recognises Transdev Blazefield's work to create a brand which provides customers with "an assurance of quality previously unseen within the bus industry".

In 2016, a £3.3 million investment was made in new vehicles, and in October this year, the service was increased to run up to every 10 minutes.

Transdev Blazefield is also celebrating three more awards.

Cityzap driver Dale French has won silver in the 'Top National Bus Driver' category for his continuous efforts to please his customers and also going above and beyond to delight them.

Two bronze awards have been presented to Marketing and Communications Manager, Ben Mansfield, in the 'Young Manager of the Year' category and VAMOOZ in the 'New Horizons' category.

Mark Yexley, Chairman of the UK Bus Awards, said: "Transdev Blazefield should be so proud of its achievements. For projects and team members to be recognised in so many categories is very impressive.

"The 36 has been refreshed once more in what the judges said was an excellent team effort, led from the front.

"We would like to congratulate the team on their outstanding achievement. There was a lot of tough competition. Well done from everyone at the UK Bus Awards."
