Ripon Rotary Bike Ride raises around £38,000

Organisers of the very first Ripon Rotary Bike Ride have described it as a "fantastic day".

More than 550 cyclists took on the 100K route, which starts and finishes at Bishop Monkton Village Hall.

The event has raised around £38,000 for Ripon-based charity Dementia Forward and research into a rare disease called scleroderma.

It replaced the highly popular Acorn Bike Ride which ran for 10 years.

The next Ripon Rotary Bike Ride will take place on 12 May 2018.
