Harrogate ball will be raising money for breast cancer charity which supports local Yorkshire people.

On Saturday 9th February 2019, the Black and White (with a hint of pink) Ball will take place at the Cedar Court Hotel.

Organised by local GP and breast cancer survivor, Sarah Gardiner, the evening event is aiming to raise thousands of pounds which will go towards helping Yorkshire women and men who are going through breast cancer.

The event will be hosted by Sarah herself along with Stray FM presenter Beth Parsons.

Breast Cancer Haven in Yorkshire

Based in Leeds, Breast Cancer Haven helps people from all over Yorkshire.

It recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary, and released figures on the number of people they've helped.

  • Breast Cancer Haven has supported over 3,800 people in that time
  • It's provided 48,000 hours of professional therapy since it first launched
  • As well as therapy and counselling it offers support days

Dr Sarah Gardiner from Harrogate was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2017 and says she sought the help of the charity and now wants to help raise awareness.

Dr Gardiner said:

"It's the only one in the North. Even though I live in Harrogate, I've been told not many people in Harrogate are not aware of the existence of the Haven."
