From secret proposals and small intimate ceremonies to big extravagant parties and wedding vows on a tropical beach, Lucy Wright has been planning weddings and events for 14 years. If you're about to get married, this could be the best advice you've had in a long time.

Lucy Wright is a wedding and events planner and has worked with a vast range of different brides, venues and themes across not only Yorkshire, but globally too.

Whether it's the full works from idea to initiation with every detail planned and prepared by Lucy, or simple on-the-day help to make sure your day goes by without a hitch (apart from the actual 'getting hitched' bit) Lucy helps brides create the wedding that's just right for them.

It's common for brides-to-be to want to arrange their wedding themselves, but working full-time whilst planning an event can often be much harder work than you'd imagine. Lucy Wright understands this and has a knack for knowing what works, what doesn't and how to make wedding planning more simple.

There is no longer a definitive 'wedding season' like there used to be, with many more couples opting for cosy Winter weddings. Lucy has helped...

  • Think marquees are only possible during the summer? Wrong! All marquees need heating even during the warmer months of the year so it actually makes little difference whether they're in January or July.
  • Hard floors, outdoor carpets and heel covers can eliminate the worries of mud, grass and stilettos.
  • With shorter days and longer nights it's important to get your timings right - no one wants wedding photos in the dark!
  • Saying that, when it comes to lighting later on during the day, the cosy warmth of candlelight can creates an incredible atmosphere.
  • Weather logistical issues - if your suppliers are coming from far away it's important to have a back up. Imagine if snow or ice prevents your photographer or band reaching you in time...
  • Alternatively, Lucy also regularly organises weddings abroad in warmer climes. No matter what time of the year, there's always sunshine somewhere.
