Around 150 people have dressed up as Santa for a special parade in Pateley Bridge.

As part of the Santa Extravaganza on Saturday, they set off from the Methodist Church and walked down the High Street which was covered in snow.

The procession was led by Rudolph high-fiving the crowds and a sleigh provided by Knaresborough Lions carrying the actual Santa.

Other VIPs included David Kerfoot, the Deputy Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire.

He said that he had never been accompanied on his official duties by Santa before.

One shopkeeper commented that the crowds were as big as when the Tour de Yorkshire came down the High Street earlier in the year.

After the parade, David Kerfoot unveiled a plaque to officially mark the town's victory in last year's Great British High Street Awards.

The whole event was organised by Nidderdale Chamber of Trade in aid of Dementia Forward and it raised around £1,000 for the charity.
