Spirit of Harrogate

The Spirit of Harrogate, the home of Slingby gin, has launched an interactive course which allows you to make your own personalised gin.

Four new gins are created every day in the UK currently, and now people are being invited to join the gin boom by taking part in a course that allows you to create your very own gin

The new Master Distiller course at the Spirit of Harrogate combines tasting with science resulting in a gin personalised to your very own tastes and preferences.

Beth Parsons and Lizzy Mcellan from Stray FM went to join the team at the Spirit of Harrogate to see what it's all about...

What happens on the Spirit of Harrogate Master Distiller course?

First things first... a few nibbles to start the evening with a welcome G&T of your choice.

With a maximum of eight people on each course it's a great time to meet everyone involved and hear a little bit about the the recent gin boom

  2. Flavour profile: SPICE (cardamom, spicy, aromatic)
  3. Flavour profile: FLORAL (aromatic, orange blossom, fruit loaf)
  4. Flavour profile: HERBAL (earthy, herbaceous, distinct)
  5. Flavour profile: JUNIPER (dry, piney, citrus, peppery)

The last part of the Master Distiller course at the Spirit of Harrogate sees you bottle your finished gin in a traditional Slingby bottle, add a label and box of your own, and use a 'bottle capping machine'.
