Charlotte Fortune Hostel Service Manager at Harrogate Homeless Project said:

"Not everyone has somewhere to go on Christmas Day, which is why at the hostel and Springboard we do open on Christmas Day.

"But the CNG Christmas Meal is a really nice build up to Christmas, because some people do have family to go to at Christmas, so it's a nice for everyone to have the opportunity to celebrate together."

Ruth has been a volunteer with the Harrogate Homeless Project for the last 10 months.

She said:

"You realise that throughout our lives we make decisions, or decisions are made for us, and it's very easy for the wrong decisions to be made.

"These people that we meet are just ordinary members of society like we are, there have just been problems in the past and things have gone wrong for them. They just need some help to get back on track.

"It's lovely we've been offered the opportunity to come somewhere like The Swan. It's a lovely venue.

"It's a treat and it's a lovely way for the community to give something back to the project as well."
