Concerned parents will meet tonight in Burley-in-Wharfedale over a lack of secondary school places.

They've called for action as the area's only secondary school - Ilkley Grammar - is set to become oversubscribed.

Pupils who miss out on a place will face a bus ride to other parts of the Bradford District.

The meeting has been organised by parents' group WASP (Wharfedale Action for School Places) and will feature representatives from Bradford Council.

Catherine Hunt, co-founder of the group and parent to a 7-year-old, said: "At the moment, BMDC's decision to take everyone to Keighley will be happening within two years.

"I don't want my child to be one of those children. I'm sure nobody else in the village or Addigham, Menston or Ilkley would like that either."

The meeting is taking place from 7pm at Queen's Hall in Burley-in-Wharfedale.
