A team of students from Harrogate Grammar School have won a prestigious prize.

They beat off competition from more than 10,000 students across the country in this year's Design Ventura enterprise challenge.

Their winning product concept is the Aqua Hook, a simple device which can be attached to a bag to carry a bottle of water.

Design Ventura challenges students aged 13 to 16 to meet a real-life design brief.

The Harrogate Grammar School team were praised by judge Sebastian Conran, who said their product was "the most commercial" he had seen in the several years of the competition.

Oliver Bean, Harris Calvert, Seb Cassidy, Ben Jackson and Jonty Trott will now work with professional designers to oversee and direct all aspects of producing the Aqua Hook, including packaging, pricing and promotion, before it goes on sale exclusively in the Design Museum shop.

The students have been telling Stray FM about their project:

Dave Allen, Product Design teacher at Harrogate Grammar School, said: "Throughout the process, Ben, Harris, Jonty, Seb and Oli have shown great professionalism.

"They took the brief and studied it, they thought of a problem they wanted to solve and there evolved the concept, so the Aqua Hook is entirely their own work.

"This work ethic carried through in producing the product and to the presentation required for the judges, which was just superb."
