Pupils and staff at Glasshouses Primary School are getting ready to say goodbye to their headteacher.

Lynn Tee is retiring after 17 happy years, having led the school through many changes and seen it grow and flourish.

The school is at the heart of the community, supporting local events including the village May Day celebrations.

Anyone attending May Day will have been amazed at the maypole dancing and the parade involving children from the school being led by the local band.

Mrs Tee has nurtured hundreds of children to become well-rounded individuals ready for high school and supported many new teachers in the first steps of their careers.

She's being described as "an inspiration" to both staff and children, who say she'll be "greatly missed".

To celebrate her time at the school, it's hosting a special tea from 3pm until 5pm on Monday 24 July.

Past pupils, parents and members of staff, as well as members of the local community, are being invited along to the event.
