Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate (QE) students have been crowned the nations netball champions, after battling it out with the country’s best teams in England netball’s National Schools Competition.

The tournament took place on Saturday 17th March, 2018.

The National Schools Competition is the biggest in the netball calendar. The competition consists of three age groups; Under 14, Under 16 & Under 19 and commences at either an Area or County Round, with schools finishing as winners or runners up in each age group progressing through to the next stage of the competition. The National Schools Netball finals were held in Hertfordshire.

Melissa Hyndman, Director of Netball at Queen Ethelburga’s said:

“To be crowned National Champions is absolutely the highlight of our year. The girls have worked incredibly hard throughout the year and they’ve progressed through each stage with increasing confidence. I’m very proud of them.

"They showcased not only their talent, but their grit and determination in the face of some fierce competition, and some pretty horrendous weather!”
