The 'Search for Eliza' is on at the Harrogate Operatic Players launch a series of auditions for a variety of roles in their 2019 show My Fair Lady. 

Would you like to take to the stage for a jaw dropping performance?

Would you, or someone you know, like to revive your love of musical theatre?

Fancy trying something new for 2019?

Harrogate Operatic Players are looking to fill a range of cast and crew roles for their 2019 musical performance of My Fair Lady:

  • Eliza Doolittle - the main part of My Fair Lady. Singing (with a high note of G5!), acting and dancing are essential! Should look 18 - 25 years old. Accents are also important - both cockney and well-spoken English. 
  • Professor Higgins - another well-known part. Acting and dancing is essential, but singing is often in a 'spoken song style'.
  • Doolittle - Eliza's father. 
  • Mrs. Pearce
  • Hugh Pickering
  • Chorus - dancing and singing essential. 
  • Backstage and front of house crew.

Who are the Harrogate Operatic Players?

Well known in the town for their big budget shows, the Harrogate Operatic players have put on shows of Top Hat (2018), Betty Blue Eyes (2017), Annie (2016) and Sister Act (2015). 

Affectionately known as HOPS, their sell-out performances attract huge crowds of theatre goers every year.

How will auditions for My Fair Lady work?

Launch night will take place on Wednesday 16th January 2019

Auditions will take place on Sunday 10th February 2019

Taking place at Harrogate Theatre, auditions will include singing, dancing and acting, though some parts may require more or less of each element.
