A special event has been organised in Harrogate to help recruit more foster carers.

Fostering North Yorkshire will be at St Peter's Church on Saturday to talk through the different options available.

At any one time, the service supports up to 340 children across the county.

As part of North Yorkshire County Council, it's also working with other local authorities to find homes for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.

Nearly 20 children have already arrived in the county and more youngsters are expected to arrive over the next three years.

Fostering North Yorkshire is looking for caring, kind and committed people who can take care of those children and help them adjust to life in the UK.

Hear from people already involved in fostering:

Anyone who is interested in fostering can find out more at St Peter's Church between 10.30am and 2pm on Saturday.
