Towns and villages along the Tour de Yorkshire route are now decorated with flags, bunting and even the odd spotty house.

But in Wetherby, they have taken it one step further and built a children's cycle track in just 48 hours.

More than 80 volunteers raced to finish the project on Millennium Field at the weekend.

They're now hoping that the track, which is called 'Little Toe', will be featured in TV coverage of the cycle race.

Declan Wilson, from Wetherby Bike Trails, told Stray FM: "They'll see lots of people waving, standing in a big foot, in the middle of a big grass field. We'll be very visible from the air.

"You know, if you stand at the top of Harrogate and look out to see the white horse near Thirsk, we're hoping to have created another little landmark for everyone to see."
