Each year the headlines are written about A-Level results, we hear how well the top schools have done, and what records have been broken (or not!).

This year was no different, with some fantastic results for local schools including at Queen Ethelburga's Collegiate.

Headteacher, Steven Jandrell said:

"We are absolutely delighted with the achievements of our students this year. Given the recent changes to the A level examination system, many schools have been unsure as to how well their students would perform, but we had every confidence that our Year 13s would achieve at their usual excellent standard. With A level and BTEC results in both schools matching the outstanding achievements of recent years, our students have risen to the challenge of these demanding examinations and shown that they continue to achieve at the highest possible level.”

But, as many people on twitter will be quick to tell you, it's not all about the results, as Mr Jandrell continues:

“It is important to understand, though, that the results are only one part of what makes schools and their students successful. With outstanding pastoral care, alongside extensive enrichment, super-curricular and co-curricular programmes, Queen Ethelburga’s supports students in becoming well-rounded, engaged members of society, with great prospects for their future careers.”

So, what do the students go on to do? We spoke with three of the class of 2016 at Queen Ethelburga's to find out. Listen on to hear stories from around the world from Cambridge to New York, via Burma...
