Three youngsters from Whixley have taken on a Christmas charity challenge for one of their friends who has terminal cancer.

12-year-old Elliott Robinson was diagnosed with a brain tumour in September 2014, and after enduring months of treatment, he was given the all-clear.

However, the tumour returned in June this year and it's now incurable.

The devastating news has inspired Elliott's lifelong friend, Freddie Brook, and Tom and Charlotte Deniz to each swim the distance of the English Channel to raise money for Candlelighters, which supports families dealing with children's cancer.

Freddie and his mum, Rachel, told Stray FM's Nick Hancock about the 'Christmas Channel Swim':

Freddie, Tom and Charlotte have launched an online fundraising page for donations.
