Family holidays and road trips in a camper van could be your next favourite hobby. Stray FM has been testing one out thanks to Skipton based Thistle Rose Leisure. 

Whether it's a long weekend in the UK or months of foreign exploring, hiring or buying a camper van is a great way of discovering an area without ever having to pay for pricey hotel rooms. And being able to head wherever you like, whenever you like means that the world is your oyster!

What is in a camper van?

Equipped with all the mod cons including a fridge, gas hob, sink, heating system and phone charging points, taking a road trip in a camper van is far from those camping nightmares you've been shying away from. 

But there's no short fast rule when it comes to what can be inside your camper van, as custom builders Thistle Rose Leisure based in Skipton know all too well!

Thistle Rose Leisure have created well over 20 camper vans for local residents and with over 100 years experience of designing and building vehicles in the team can complete the job in less than a fortnight. 

Some large camper vans can even feature toilets and showers. And when it comes to choosing colours and designs the sky is your limit... almost!

The Stray FM Camper Van Road Trip

One night in Pateley Bridge and one night in Blackpool, put one of the Thistle Rose camper vans to the test when Beth Parsons got to try one out for the weekend. 

"It was great to drive! And I absolutely loved it! Everything was very easy to use and Peter from Thistle Rose explained how everything works really well. We met up with my boyfriend Sam's nieces who are aged 7 and 4 and they thought the camper van was awesome." Beth Parsons

From roasting marshmallows to blow drying her hair, from chilling the prosecco and pimms (or the cheap Aldi alternative...) in the fridge to cooking bacon sandwiches for 6 people, the weekend showed the camping life in a whole new light!
