Finding time to exercise as a working parent can be a struggle. What you need is a gym that supports your lifestyle.

Beth Parsons from Stray FM's Health and Wellbeing Show went on a tour of the newly refurbished David Lloyd Club in Harrogate. Apart from a state of the art gym that you probably expected, here are some other things she found:

1. Childcare

An absolute must for working parents, David Lloyd Harrogate offer childcare. Over the summer holidays, the kids camps can take care of the children from 8am to 6pm. They'll be kept entertained playing sports, making and creating, and taking part in exercise classes, so you can have a little time to yourself.

2. Restaurant

Rather than rushing home from the gym to eat, relax with a coffee, beer, or smoothie in the restaurant. Indulgent but healthy food is also served for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

3. Workspace

If you're lucky enough to be able to work from home, or you're just keen to crack on as soon as you've finished your exercise, there's a place you can work, ready equipped with fast internet and comfortable surroundings.

4. Outdoor exercise space

The Battlebox is an outdoor workout space at David Lloyd offering 45 minute classes for a variety of workout styles. If you want to spend some time outdoors as well as getting the gym into your schedule, this is the perfect way to do both.

5. Family exercise opportunities

Working parents want to spend time with the children when they can. Rather than having to leave them at home to get your exercise, there are swimming classes, tennis workshops, and even Battlebox classes you can take part in as a family.

6. Pool

Whether you're a casual swimmer, swimming for fitness, or even training for a triathlon, help is on hand at David Lloyd. From babies to grown ups, free swimming to pool based exercise classes David Lloyd can help you with your swimming.

7. Tennis courts

3 outdoor acrylic courts, 2 indoor carpet courts and 2 indoor acrylic courts - rain or shine, you can practice your tennis at David Lloyd. If your children are budding tennis professionals, you can enroll them in coaching sessions - and if they get competitive, you can have some lessons yourself!

There's also space outdoors to relax by the courts, so you needn't miss a sunny day just to get in some gym time.

8. Sauna and steam room

Peace, quiet and tranquility. Finish your work out with a stint the sauna and steam room to fully relax those aching muscles.

9. Spa

To take the relaxation to the next level, there's a spa on site. Available to non-members too, the spa offers everything from your everyday treatments like manicures and massage, to full body treatments and reflexology. After balancing all aspects of being a working parent, a spa treatment is definitely well earned!
