With Wimbledon on the horizon and tennis-mania set to hit the UK, a variety of tennis camps, private tuition and group sessions are scheduled to take place in Harrogate for the seasons ahead.

David Lloyd Club are holding a number of sessions for adults and children of all abilities as they gear up for the tennis season.

With Wimbledon 2019 set to start at the end of June, the club are welcoming both competitive and social players to take part for fun or to play in tournaments.

David Lloyd Harrogate also take part in team tournaments for those who wish to play competitively against rival David Lloyd Clubs in Hull, York, Leeds and Teesside.

Sessions for children and adults

David Lloyd Club Harrogate host social sessions for children that want to play for fun, with two one-hour sessions each week.

Those that take part can choose to have some individual coaching from one of six tennis coaches, but the sessions are aimed at being fun and give them a chance to pick up a racquet and play.

Children can also receive coaching from the club's tennis program, with the sessions allowing the children to learn individually or within a group and progress from beginner to performance level.

Adult sessions at the club also run throughout the week, ranging from beginners to team players, as well as cardio-tennis, a new popular session that combines Personal Trainer sessions with playing tennis.

Judy Murray visits Harrogate

Last year, Judy Murray held a session at the David Lloyd club in Harrogate which encouraged parents to learn how to develop their kids' tennis skills.

The tennis coach, and mother of tennis superstars Andrew and Jamie Murray, explained that getting the right opportunity is vital.

"David Lloyd Clubs are very family focussed so it was all about bringing lots of parents and kids together and showing the parents some ideas of how they can help their kids develop the skills that you need for tennis.

"I always say that there's talent everywhere, but not all talent is spotted or given the opportunity to develop and I think in this type of club where you've got so many different sports, with both indoor and outdoor tennis courts, you have the opportunity to play all year round.

"With the right opportunity anything can happen."
