O'Connor Chiropractic are dedicated to helping women before, during and after pregnancy, and are encouraging new mums to bring their newborns to the clinic to have chiropractic care together.

  • O'Connor Chiropractic in Harrogate and Ilkley offer adjustments to pregnant women throughout pregnancy, as well as to newborns to correct any issues caused from giving birth
  • The Harrogate clinic have also teamed up with Be Healthy Active to offer pre-natal and post-natal fitness classes that can be beneficial during and after pregnancy

O'Connor Chiropractic are helping women and babies during the birthing process, whether that be back aches caused by carrying a child or the trauma childbirth can cause for a baby, as well as adjusting newborns to allow them to develop correctly.

The clinic will check alignment as well as the pelvis throughout pregnancy to ensure mums are ready for the big day, looking after patients until the day they give birth.

Catering to all stages of pregnancy, O'Connor Chiropractic have different cushions for different stages of the process to provide support for the patient's tummy and breasts. This allows expecting mums to lay on their front whilst being adjusted, something they may not have been able to do for a while!

Charlotte from O'Connor Chiropractic in Harrogate said:

"We can see babies from the day they are born and the chiropractors will check everything is in alignment to allow them to develop correctly.

"We see a lot of mums and babies come at the same time together, so the little baby will be adjusted and then one of the clinical assistants like myself will look after it while mum gets adjusted."

Be Healthy Active

Be Healthy Active will be holding pre-natal and post-natal fitness sessions at O'Connor Chiropractic in Harrogate to ensure both mums and babies are as healthy as possible.

The fitness sessions are aimed at mums, babies, and pregnant women to teach them about their bodies and what they've been through, as well as developing tailored programmes and workout sessions to get them fitter and healthier.

"The main thing behind the classes is for mums and babies to benefit, for them to get out so they don't feel stuck at home, to meet other mums and compare notes of what they've been through or are about to go through.

"It's about creating a fun environment and learning about physical activity and then getting to know each other and create a community feel, which is very much what O'Connor Chiropractic is about."

James, Be Healthy Active

Staying fit during pregnancy is important to make labour as easy (and enjoyable!) as possible.
