Home Schooling hits Harrogate, Craven and Wharfedale

Parents across North and West Yorkshire are getting to grips with teaching at home.

  • Schools are now closed to children other than those of key workers
  • Parents are now working out how to juggle home and education
  • Some creative ideas have been found!

As the UK enters "lockdown" during the Covid-19 pandemic, and the government advise us all to stay at home, parents across Harrogate, Craven and Wharfedale are aiming to keep their children's education going.

Schools have provided many resources and ideas, and we've seen plenty of creativity in the pictures you've sent to Stray FM.

From creating amazing dens, to working hard on PE, as one of the 900,000 people who've joined in with Joe Wicks's daily PE lessons:

And learning doesn't just have to be stuck inside:

It's not just balancing the home learning with family life, many people are also having to work from home in their jobs too. Like our Lisa from the News Team:

Most importantly though, we should recongise the amazing role that our teachers are doing supporting our key workers by keeping schools open for their children. And this school did just that:
