Preparations for the Tour de France's arrival in Yorkshire have taken a step forward with the release of stage times.

It means each community along the route can get a rough idea of what time the peloton should be passing through.

The first spectators will see of the race is when the Tour's publicity 'caravane' passes along the route between one-and-a-half to two hours ahead of the riders.

The race itself will set off from Leeds at 12.00 on 5 July.

A good pace should see the riders reaching Skipton by 12.47, Ripon at 15.51 and crossing the finish line in Harrogate at 16.20.

Day two has Knaresborough expecting the peloton at around 11.51, with Addingham at 12.41.
